Where the line actually falls

Most free plans are shaped like a countdown. This one has exactly one number in it, and it is worth understanding why that number is the one.

Why is there no limit on collections or collectibles?

There used to be. The free plan carried three ceilings — collections, collectibles per collection, and a total across the shelf — and they came off in August 2026.

The reasoning was simple enough. A ceiling on a collection is a wall in front of something that only ever grows. Every collector eventually hits it, and the only thing on the other side is a payment screen. Raising the numbers just moves the wall. Removing them means the shelf you build on day one is the shelf you still have at a thousand pieces.

So what do the 15 autofills actually cover?

Only the part where AI reads a photograph and writes the fields for you: the name, a description, the manufacturer, the set, the year, and whatever else that collectible type carries. Typing those in yourself is unlimited and always was.

That is the honest reason this one number exists. Every autofill runs a real model against your photo and costs real money each time it happens — it is the single part of the free plan that is not simply storage. Leaving it uncapped would make the free tier unbounded on the one axis that is expensive, so it stays at 15 a month while everything around it does not.

What happens when I run out?

Nothing locks and nothing you have added is touched. The app tells you the date they come back — the 1st — rather than showing you an upgrade screen, because the allowance refills on its own and an offer would be answering a question you did not ask.

In the meantime the manual form is the same form. The fields the AI would have filled are all still there, and you fill the ones you care about.

Where should I spend them?

On whatever has the most fields to fill. A graded card with a set, a year, a card number, a parallel and a serial number saves you five typed values; a fridge magnet saves you one. The autofills are worth most on the collectibles you would otherwise put off cataloguing.
