Terms of Service
These terms
TrophyShelf is developed and operated by Vinay Are, an individual. By creating an account or using the app or these public pages, you agree to what follows. If you do not agree, do not use it.
Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your information and forms part of this agreement.
Your account
- You must be at least 13. If the law where you live sets a higher age for agreeing to terms like these, you must be that age.
- Your phone number is your account. There is no password — signing in means receiving a code by SMS. Keep control of the number and of the device that receives it. Anyone who can read your messages can sign in as you.
- One person per account, and the information you give us should be accurate.
- Your username is yours while your account exists. Some names are reserved — anything implying you speak for TrophyShelf, and names the public site needs for its own pages. We may reclaim a username that impersonates someone, and we may reassign one from a deleted account.
- You are responsible for what happens on your account, including anything posted from it.
Your content stays yours
Your photographs, descriptions and collection data belong to you. We claim no ownership of them.
To run the product we need permission to handle them. By adding content you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, resize and display it — for the purpose of operating TrophyShelf for you. Concretely, that means:
- showing your collection back to you in the app;
- rendering the public pages of anything you have chosen to make public, and letting those pages be shared and previewed by messaging apps and search engines;
- showing your public items in the in-app feed;
- sending photographs to our AI provider when you ask for an AI action, as described in the Privacy Policy.
The licence ends when the content does. Delete an item, or your account, and the permission goes with it — subject to the short caching delay described in the Privacy Policy, and to the fact that we cannot retrieve copies other people have already made.
We will not use your collection to advertise, and we will not license it to anyone else, without asking you first.
You confirm that you have the right to post what you post, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
What you may not do
- Misrepresent what you own. Do not present a replica or a counterfeit as genuine, and do not overstate a grade, a condition or a provenance.
- Post someone else's photographs as your own, or anything you do not have the right to share.
- Harass, threaten or abuse anyone, or post hateful content.
- Spam — bulk promotion, misleading listings, or using the feed as a sales channel.
- Post anything illegal, sexually explicit, or dangerous.
- Attack the service. No scraping at scale, no attempts to bypass our limits or security, no automated account creation, and no using another copy of the app to send requests we did not intend to accept.
- Resell the service or the AI features in it.
Public pages carry a report link, and reports are reviewed. Where content breaks these rules we may make it private, remove it, or suspend or close the account behind it. Where we can, we tell you why.
Free and Pro
The free plan is a real plan, not a trial. It has limits on how many collections you can create, how many collectibles a collection can hold, how many you can have in total, and how many AI actions you get. AI credits refill monthly — you get a fixed number each calendar month, they reset on the first of the month, and unused ones do not carry over. The current numbers are shown in the app, on the plan screen and wherever you run out.
Pro is a subscription that lifts those limits. Its price and period are shown before you buy.
- Apple and Google take the payment, not us. Their terms govern the transaction and your receipt.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and you are charged at the start of each period.
- Cancel in the App Store or Play Store. That is the only place a subscription can be cancelled — not in TrophyShelf, and not by deleting your account. Deleting your account while a subscription is active leaves the subscription billing.
- Refunds are the store's to give. Ask Apple or Google. Where consumer law in your country gives you a refund right, that right applies whatever this paragraph says.
- Prices can change, and we will tell you before a change affects a renewal.
- If Pro lapses, your data is not deleted. You keep everything you added; you simply cannot add past the free limits until you are under them again or subscribe again.
AI features, valuations and trades
TrophyShelf uses an AI model to read your photographs and suggest details. Suggestions are suggestions. They can be wrong, and confidently so. The app marks AI-filled fields and leaves uncertain ones blank, and it is on you to check them before you rely on them or publish them.
Any price, valuation, or condition assessment shown in TrophyShelf is an estimate for reference only. It is not an appraisal, not authentication, not a grade from a grading company, and not financial or investment advice. Do not use it as the basis of a purchase, a sale, an insurance claim or a tax position without having the item valued properly.
TrophyShelf is a showcase. We do not broker sales, hold funds, verify authenticity, or take any part in a transaction between collectors. If you buy or sell something because of what you saw here, that is entirely between you and the other person.
An AI action spends a credit when the work is done. If a request fails, the credit is returned.
The service itself
We change TrophyShelf as it develops: features arrive, and occasionally one is removed. If we remove something you rely on, or discontinue the service altogether, we will give you reasonable notice and time to get your collection out.
We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted. Public pages in particular are served through a cache, which is why a page you have just made private can remain reachable for a few minutes.
Ending it
You: delete your account from Settings whenever you like. Your public pages and your posts in the feed come down straight away, and the account itself — collectibles, photographs and profile — is deleted 30 days later. Sign in again within those 30 days and choose Restore, and nothing is lost; or choose to delete immediately instead of waiting. Remember to cancel any subscription separately, and note that the 30 days are 30 more days of billing if you do not.
Us: we may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is being used to harm someone, or that we are required to act on. Except where the reason makes it impossible, we will tell you and give you a chance to get your data.
If something of yours was posted by someone else
Tell us, at developer.trophyshelf@gmail.com, with enough detail to identify the work and the page. We remove infringing content and close the accounts of repeat infringers.
The legal parts
No warranty. TrophyShelf is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranty that it will be error-free, that AI suggestions will be accurate, or that it will meet your particular purpose.
Limits on liability. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits, or for loss arising from a decision you made on the basis of an AI-generated estimate. Our total liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period, or USD 50 if you paid nothing.
None of this removes rights you have by law. Consumer protection law in many countries gives you rights that a contract cannot take away. Where that is so, those rights apply and the two paragraphs above are read down to whatever the law permits.
Changes to these terms. We update the date at the top when they change, and we will tell you in the app before a material change takes effect. Continuing to use TrophyShelf after that means you accept the new terms; if you do not, delete your account.
Governing law. These terms are governed by the law of India, and disputes go to the courts of Hyderabad, without affecting any right you have to bring a claim where you live.
The rest. If a clause turns out to be unenforceable the others still stand. Not enforcing something once does not waive it. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us. You may not transfer this agreement; we may, if the product changes hands, and we would say so first.
