Delete your account
Deleting your TrophyShelf account
TrophyShelf is developed and operated by Vinay Are, an individual (“we”, “us”).
You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app, at any time, without asking us and without sending an email. This page describes how, what is deleted, what is kept, and how long it takes. If you only want part of it gone, the next section covers that.
Deleting some of it, and keeping your account
If what you want gone is one collectible or one shelf rather than the account itself, you can remove it on its own. You do not need to ask us, and none of the timings on the rest of this page apply.
- One collectible. Open it, tap Edit, then Delete at the foot of the form. It goes with every photograph you took of it.
- A whole collection. Open it, tap the ··· button, choose Edit Collection, then the delete icon beside the title. Everything filed inside it goes too, photographs included.
Both take effect immediately and permanently. There is no 30-day wait and no undo — that waiting period belongs to account deletion, further down this page, and does not apply here. Your account, your username and the rest of your shelf are untouched.
How to delete it
- Open TrophyShelf and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Choose Delete Account.
- Type your username to confirm. This is the only confirmation we ask for — there is no code to wait for and no email to answer.
That schedules the deletion. Nothing else is required of you, and it happens whether or not you open the app again.
What goes immediately
The moment you confirm, and before the waiting period below begins, we remove everything that other people can see:
- Your public pages — your profile page, your collection pages and every collectible page under them.
- Your posts in the feed.
- Your notification tokens, so the app stops sending anything to your phone.
Asking to delete your account is asking to stop being visible, and making you wait a month for that would answer a different question. One caveat we would rather state than have you discover: a page someone opened in the last few minutes may still be served from a cache for a short time after it is gone from us. We cannot purge that cache; it expires on its own.
What happens after 30 days
Your account is permanently deleted 30 days after you confirm. At that point we delete your collectibles, your photographs, your collections, your saved items, your profile, and finally your sign-in record. None of it is recoverable afterwards.
The wait does not depend on you coming back. If you never open the app again, the deletion still runs on its due date.
You have those 30 days to undo it
Sign in again any time before the due date and the app will offer you Restore my account. Choosing it cancels the deletion and rebuilds everything, public pages included, as it was.
The same screen offers Continue deletion, which signs you out and leaves the schedule running. It deletes nothing at the moment you tap it — your account still goes on its due date.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription
If you subscribe to TrophyShelf Pro, that subscription belongs to Apple or Google rather than to us, and only they can cancel it. Deleting your account here does not touch it, and you will keep being charged until you cancel it yourself — in the App Store on iPhone, or in Google Play on Android.
That matters more during the waiting period, not less: the 30 days are 30 more days of billing if you have not cancelled.
The few things that survive a deletion
- Moderation records. If content was reported to us, the report is kept. A report is a record about an account rather than something the account owns, and an account that could erase its own reports by deleting and signing up again would have a free reset on its history.
- Analytics and crash reports, which carry no name, address or phone number, are retained for as long as Firebase's own retention settings keep them — a matter of months rather than years.
- Records we are required to keep, such as records of a purchase, for as long as the law requires.
Everything else goes. How long we keep it in the Privacy Policy is the full list.
If you cannot get into the app
Sign-in is by mobile number and a one-time SMS code, so if you have lost the number the account was created with, you cannot reach the button described above. Write to developer.trophyshelf@gmail.com from any address and tell us the username or the mobile number on the account.
We will ask you for something that shows the account is yours before we delete anything — deleting somebody's collection on the strength of an email naming them would be the worse mistake. We answer these within 30 days and usually much sooner.
